people are forgetting GPT 5.x is half the price of Opus, let alone comparing it price<->intelligence to Mythos pricing
nowhere in the same ballpark
OpenAI has won a long time ago
@beffjezos
If Spud is really good, could mean a big gain for Codex over the next weeks. The Mythos aura farm may have cost Anthropic the lead.
imo this is like skills but for normies (which is a GREAT thing for adoption, not saying this in a bad light)
hard to get across workflows with skills when working with a company
easy to package up an _ assistant that has 10 skills particular to its role and let it have at it
@OpenAI
Introducing workspace agents in ChatGPT—shared agents that can handle complex tasks and long-running workflows across tools and teams.
Another W to OpenAI
2026 is the year OpenAI becomes true to their name. Open source harness, ability to use the subscription with whatever you want given its codex app server / oauth capabilities that work out of the box.
OpenAI is no longer able to be mocked as ClosedAI.
@steipete
Interesting shift. These highly subsidized subs are out there to get your code to improve their models. If you use AI for things useful to you, but not code, you are not valuable to them. reddit.com/r/SillyTavernA…
This is true, and quite a problem to solve for @RockstarGames GTA VI
Can you imagine the model capabilities by the time they roll out GTA to PC?
Easily top 5 problems game developers need to figure out this year https://t.co/HWYdIxZRNO
@yacineMTB
By the way, we are now in a world where all software distributed to your computer is effectively open source We finally have The Ultimate Disassembler The future rocks :)
Consistently, without exception, here is the pattern:
1. Anthropic vibe codes some new idea and releases a janky version of it (Claude Code, MCP, Skills, Computer Use, Cowork)
2. OpenAI takes a few months (weeks nowadays) to release a 100x better version of Anthropic's slop
openai's acquisition and full speed ahead development of @AriX and his team of Apple ecosystem engineers will go down as one of the (many) reasons why they are winning and will continue to win
if you haven't tried the latest Computer Use from the Codex app, go. feels magical.
opus 4.7 feels like a model made by someone who tried to vibe code gpt 5.4
yeah the latest computer use feature from the new codex app is a much bigger deal than slopus 4.7
once spud / 5.5 or whatever they call it is out, it's over
you'll always have claude boys but openai has won and will continue to win in the ai race, mark my words
@SIGKITTEN
codex computer use is so much better than claude's its not even comparable
IMMEDIATELY regarding Opus 4.7 you can see one huge key difference: it now loves comments within code
with dumber models of the 2025 era, this was a detriment to code quality as a whole
maybe things have changed now with the general intelligence being so much higher
we'll see!
one thing to keep in mind is that opus 4.6 is ~2x price of gpt 5.4
gpt 5.4 being on par / better than opus in benchmarks
i think we'll see 5.5 increase that gap of price/intelligence even further, unless mythos really is some magically cracked model optimizer with opus 4.7
@AndrewCurran_
Many sightings of Opus 4.7 in the wild, it's looking like today is the day. If it feels like this is too soon, that's because the last Opus release was only 73 days ago. Let's call it Mythos-induced acceleration. Today was also the rumored release day for Spud, aka GPT-5.5. Not … Less

Let's call it Mythos-induced acceleration. Today was also the rumored release day for Spud, aka GPT-5.5. Not sure if we're still getting 5.5 today though,the latest rumors say it's been pushed to next week. Both of these models will be part of the new wave, and head-to-head comparisons of their similarly sized versions will matter a lot to people who spend their time thinking about this race.
every time I upgrade to the next latest/alpha of Codex I am shocked that auto-titling is still not a thing
seems like a no brainer especially with 5.3 spark
@ah20im @thsottiaux pls, m'lords 🥺
I've seen at this point hundreds of Anthropic accounts banned
Yet to see an OpenAI account get banned
@KyleSwifter
Been using Claude Code for quite a while. This morning I even got a “Claude for Open Source check-in” survey — happily filled it out. A few hours later… my account got banned.
