Doing comp sci research with Opus 4.6 Extended (here, in the context of an upcoming Verse programming language theory paper) is really a Flowers for Algernon moment. It's a superpower, like having a team of graduate students that can answer questions on demand on any topic.

now in a single day they switched their tune re. AI hatred to "look at how bad it is {bad now being used as evil here instead of 'quality' bad}, this is going to cause ruin"...

@MichaelStolarzgpt 4.5 is a bad example here because it was useless other than for some half decent prose upside for slopwriters
again, if this mythos model measures up to even half of what is being shown it's capable of, price does not matter here

Less likely, given the claims about Mythos. 2) They genuinely are worried about unleashing cybersecurity choas on the world. 3) They don't have capacity to serve it at scale yet. 4) They will quickly distil the early access outputs of Mythos into a lighter model, so no need to release the bigger model when a more cost efficient one coming imminently. 5) Other. Not read the 250 page report yet, but will do.
