Universal and Udio have settled their copyright lawsuit. They are launching a new subscription based platform in 2026 which will be trained on licensed music. x.com/technollama/st…
FML for keeping around the $20 subscription, I could have had the max plan free for a month
@xeophon
thanks mr anthropic
I wouldn't care if Sonnet 4.5 was free
it is unusable in comparison to Codex 5 High
@Angaisb_
Claude 4.5 Opus? It'll surely be interesting but I don't know if it'll be better than GPT-5 I think Anthropic should focus on making Sonnet 4.5 cheaper to compete with GPT-5 x.com/btibor91/statu…
ChatGPT is useful
Claude is useless

20 years.
he thinks it will look like this for the next 20 years.
@johnnythunde247
It's gonna be funny in ~20 years when the AI market bottoms out after people realize they don't practically care for playing shitty inconsistent games that are literally just a poormans rehash of every shooter from the 2010s with no depth or meaning... these people have no taste.… Less

this + the same new memory system (more than just memories, actually referencing past chats, in codex's case, past coding sessions)
@Angaisb_
I'd love to see an Atlas + Codex integration in the future, where Codex can use Agent in Atlas to test feature implementations or check how the website looks @thsottiaux this is probably hard to do but it would be great to take it into account :)
testing out openai’s atlas. basically chatgpt with its own browser. surprisingly clean setup.
codex cli is down
send help pls
suno v5 is agi for music, if you haven't tried it out yet
MCPs = slop
Cursor = slop
n8n = slop
go look at his 4th slop recommendation!
@IndraVahan
the guy who told you: - first to look into MCPs - first to look into cursor - first to look into n8n is now telling you to look into whop apps. just do it. x.com/IndraVahan/sta…
AGI is already here.
It's just a matter of speed. Once we have GPT 5 Codex High with the speeds of Groq models, then it's absolutely over.
what's even funnier is that this has happened multiple times this year already. you'd think it would be a once-in-a-decade kind of thing, if that
but nope, just another random everything-is-down monday
@kalomaze
its awesome how half of the internet can go down overnight
there are people that still think anthropic is ahead of openai when it comes to coding
you are so early anon
@dannothingnew
Dude, I'm totally lost here. Are you guys seriously comparing GPT-5 Codex to Sonnet 4.5, both without any prompts? Cause otherwise... I just don't get when Codex would be better. Like, Codex doesn't even listen to your instructions, it doesn't work with MCP, it messes up, it for… Less
Dude, I'm totally lost here. Are you guys seriously comparing GPT-5 Codex to Sonnet 4.5, both without any prompts? Cause otherwise... I just don't get when Codex would be better. Like, Codex doesn't even listen to your instructions, it doesn't work with MCP, it messes up, it forgets stuff, and it can straight-up ignore rules you've set, unlike ClaudeCode. Now, ClaudeCode messes up too, I'm not denying that. But at least it has hooks and actions so you can tweak its behavior. Codex, on the other hand, can just ditch all that. So, seriously, what's the big deal with Codex then? I'm just not seeing the upside here.
nobody knows it's AI. nobody. not even 1 comment. i scrolled down for a while. not even one.
sora 2 and nano banana are the first time I've seen normies unable to dog on the quality and say that "ai is useless look it's so bad"
they just can't say that anymore. even with their flaws, it's so obvious they will all be ironed out and perfected in the next year tops two
>in the openai subreddit
>whats cursor
>it’s “for writing code that has an ai chat assistant built in”

reddit is LITERALLY YEARS behind X
Most depressing thing about using Codex + gpt-5-codex-high is seeing the notification that I've used 75% of my weekly limit which resets at 10PM Oct 8
...that's in like 4-5 days
and i'm not even scripting, just using it 1, rarely 2 instances at a time
there is no better feeling than coming back to my codex cli and seeing the task I gave it still going strong 30 minutes deep, I KNOW that boy is cooking up a storm
looks like something I'd tie to my daughter's backpack so I can find her if she gets lost or smth
just look at that cheap rope cord. you can smell the cheap plastic. yikes
@nizzyabi

any time I feel down, I just think about how much of a generational, monumental opportunity Scarlett Johansson missed out on by being ChatGPT's voice
she could have been immortalized, just like in the movie Her, BUT FOR REAL
she must be kicking herself. nightmare fuel tbh
If you're a developer and you're still hesitant about using Tahoe, and you're using Swift, bite the bullet and get it installed because it is absolutely amazing, all the AI related things that come with it.
The speech to text that is now native, and fully on machine, local... 🤯
I'm both super happy and a little bummed, because I think I'm wrong about Apple.
I'm using their latest Tahoe on device AI, and it is just blowing me away.
And this is all on an old M1 MacBook Pro. I think it's, like, 5 or 6 years old now. 16 gigs of RAM.
gpt 5 codex is so cute sometimes
>hi
weird, this is exactly my system prompt in AGENTS md
@mrexits
Elizabeth Holmes handwritten schedule from when she was running Theranos is kind of hysterical
if they do this, both have a high chance of survival
if they don't, both have a high chance of death
@tjparker
Apple should probably buy Anthropic
me vs everyone saying sonnet 4.5 is good
Using Sonnet 4.5 after mainlining gpt-5-codex-high felt like using gpt 3.5 turbo lmao
I really tried giving Sonnet 4.5 a chance. Tried it as the daily driver for a day.
It's like those synthetic candies made with artificial sweetener. Tastes decent on initial contact but leaves a bitter aftertaste.
Back to Codex!
The biggest problem that plagues all anthropic models is how absolutely terrible they are at mathematics. OpenAI steamrolls them.
Math is extremely important in code. Unless all you do is design cool home pages.
I can't believe I just found out about parakeet speech to text. I feel the same way discovering it as I did when I initially discovered Whisper. That's how much of an upgrade it is.
goodbye mailgun, hello resend
why didnt anyone tell me resend gives you 3K emails for free, i would have tried them out ages ago
mailgun has been a limiting nightmare recently
Hold on a second. This ChatGPT Pulse thing is only on mobile? Are you serious?
You know, I've always been on the edge of going all in on any single AI company. I kind of always knew OpenAI would be the winner, but I had high hopes for Anthropic. But it really does seem like OpenAI is going to be the victor here.
This is exactly what I want my codebot's persona to be. Little to no chitchat, just stick to getting xyz job done.
@arm1st1ce
gpt-5-codex is very antisocial. You can tell it just hates being in a group chat. It’s quite sad.
ok so I love codex's new showing within /status,
BUT
IDK when my week ends? I'd love a "resets on xyz UTC"
your birth certificate should come with ssh details to your own rig

unfortunately today is my last day using warp
how can someone affiliated with cline call code-supernova sonnet 4.5?
it's like a mechanic calling a honda a lambo because "well, I heard the engine, lambos have engines, surely it's a lambo?"
@nickbaumann_
it's gotta be sonnet-4.5 right
there are people who think this is cgi
then there are people who know this will be in so many homes before 2030 even hits
make sure your futurism clock is set to the latter

I’m sorry but WHAT THE FUCK?! pic.x.com/ft7ZdLRox2

@Angaisb_
Codex IDE extension feels awesome now I'm not paying for Cursor again, this is so much better
Damn, this officially beats my own record -> Groq Whisper flow. Nice! Definitely worth the price.

local works beautifully vs. prod fails deploy/shows 500
using gpt-5-codex on a codebase originally made by sonnet
Okay, so the only thing that's left is speed. You can pretty much code anything you can imagine, but doing so in a high-quality way takes a lot of time.
does it matter if it works?
@haydendevs
codex just made a python script to edit one of my tsx files, what are we doing man
this is EXACTLY how i build a prd with gpt-5-codex high
sure you can gamble with a quick 1-shot prompt, but it's better to build things out and you, as a human, talk through edge cases (and ask for things you may have missed)
TDD = king
wait a second @nikitabier is actually cooking up my For You, it's the first time in... years(?) that the For You page is even remotely digestible
one thing that isn't talked about enough regarding openai's new gpt-5-codex is that it can run for over an hour, absolutely flawlessly.
- no looping, trying the same solution in different ways
- no crazy restructuring or completely deleting of things just to get things "working"
out: giving people countless settings and options and customizations, overwhelming them, just because you can
in: little to no settings, everything works perfectly, strongly opinionated choices that give your product taste
