AGI is already here. It's just a matter of speed. Once we have GPT 5 Codex High with the speeds of Groq models, then it's absolutely over.
what's even funnier is that this has happened multiple times this year already. you'd think it would be a once-in-a-decade kind of thing, if that but nope, just another random everything-is-down monday
its awesome how half of the internet can go down overnight
there are people that still think anthropic is ahead of openai when it comes to coding you are so early anon
Dude, I'm totally lost here. Are you guys seriously comparing GPT-5 Codex to Sonnet 4.5, both without any prompts? Cause otherwise... I just don't get when Codex would be better. Like, Codex doesn't even listen to your instructions, it doesn't work with MCP, it messes up, it for… MoreLess
Dude, I'm totally lost here. Are you guys seriously comparing GPT-5 Codex to Sonnet 4.5, both without any prompts? Cause otherwise... I just don't get when Codex would be better. Like, Codex doesn't even listen to your instructions, it doesn't work with MCP, it messes up, it forgets stuff, and it can straight-up ignore rules you've set, unlike ClaudeCode. Now, ClaudeCode messes up too, I'm not denying that. But at least it has hooks and actions so you can tweak its behavior. Codex, on the other hand, can just ditch all that. So, seriously, what's the big deal with Codex then? I'm just not seeing the upside here.
sora 2 and nano banana are the first time I've seen normies unable to dog on the quality and say that "ai is useless look it's so bad" they just can't say that anymore. even with their flaws, it's so obvious they will all be ironed out and perfected in the next year tops two
>in the openai subreddit >whats cursor >it’s “for writing code that has an ai chat assistant built in” >it “uses chat got, but it’s INSIDE the program reddit is LITERALLY YEARS behind X

Most depressing thing about using Codex + gpt-5-codex-high is seeing the notification that I've used 75% of my weekly limit which resets at 10PM Oct 8 ...that's in like 4-5 days and i'm not even scripting, just using it 1, rarely 2 instances at a time
there is no better feeling than coming back to my codex cli and seeing the task I gave it still going strong 30 minutes deep, I KNOW that boy is cooking up a storm

looks like something I'd tie to my daughter's backpack so I can find her if she gets lost or smth just look at that cheap rope cord. you can smell the cheap plastic. yikes
it hurts to say this but it wasn’t that good i don’t understand why i need to talk to the friend by clicking the necklace just for it to text me why can’t i just text it on my phone? why do i need an extra piece of hardware? imma keep using it but honestly its just not great r… MoreLess

any time I feel down, I just think about how much of a generational, monumental opportunity Scarlett Johansson missed out on by being ChatGPT's voice she could have been immortalized, just like in the movie Her, BUT FOR REAL she must be kicking herself. nightmare fuel tbh
If you're a developer and you're still hesitant about using Tahoe, and you're using Swift, bite the bullet and get it installed because it is absolutely amazing, all the AI related things that come with it. The speech to text that is now native, and fully on machine, local... 🤯
I'm both super happy and a little bummed, because I think I'm wrong about Apple. I'm using their latest Tahoe on device AI, and it is just blowing me away. And this is all on an old M1 MacBook Pro. I think it's, like, 5 or 6 years old now. 16 gigs of RAM.
weird, this is exactly my system prompt in AGENTS md
Elizabeth Holmes handwritten schedule from when she was running Theranos is kind of hysterical

I really tried giving Sonnet 4.5 a chance. Tried it as the daily driver for a day. It's like those synthetic candies made with artificial sweetener. Tastes decent on initial contact but leaves a bitter aftertaste. Back to Codex!
The biggest problem that plagues all anthropic models is how absolutely terrible they are at mathematics. OpenAI steamrolls them. Math is extremely important in code. Unless all you do is design cool home pages.
I can't believe I just found out about parakeet speech to text. I feel the same way discovering it as I did when I initially discovered Whisper. That's how much of an upgrade it is.
goodbye mailgun, hello resend why didnt anyone tell me resend gives you 3K emails for free, i would have tried them out ages ago mailgun has been a limiting nightmare recently
You know, I've always been on the edge of going all in on any single AI company. I kind of always knew OpenAI would be the winner, but I had high hopes for Anthropic. But it really does seem like OpenAI is going to be the victor here.
This is exactly what I want my codebot's persona to be. Little to no chitchat, just stick to getting xyz job done.
gpt-5-codex is very antisocial. You can tell it just hates being in a group chat. It’s quite sad.

how can someone affiliated with cline call code-supernova sonnet 4.5? it's like a mechanic calling a honda a lambo because "well, I heard the engine, lambos have engines, surely it's a lambo?"
it's gotta be sonnet-4.5 right

Damn, this officially beats my own record -> Groq Whisper flow. Nice! Definitely worth the price.
✨Today I'm launching Paraspeech on Producthunt. It's one of the fastest real-time speech to text apps for Mac and it's: • 100% offline and on-device • <40ms cold-start time • <300ms transcriptions • barely touches battery & just needs 200MB of RAM • no subscript… MoreLess

Okay, so the only thing that's left is speed. You can pretty much code anything you can imagine, but doing so in a high-quality way takes a lot of time.
this is EXACTLY how i build a prd with gpt-5-codex high sure you can gamble with a quick 1-shot prompt, but it's better to build things out and you, as a human, talk through edge cases (and ask for things you may have missed) TDD = king
one thing that isn't talked about enough regarding openai's new gpt-5-codex is that it can run for over an hour, absolutely flawlessly. - no looping, trying the same solution in different ways - no crazy restructuring or completely deleting of things just to get things "working"

out: giving people countless settings and options and customizations, overwhelming them, just because you can in: little to no settings, everything works perfectly, strongly opinionated choices that give your product taste
this is EXACTLY what I wanted to see from the new gpt-5-codex model. vibe coding is fun until it makes decisions for you that you then have to spend time cleaning up, wasting time/adding technical debt this questioning you see here is chef's kiss. ask me more often! yay!

yeah, this new codex model just one shot something I've been debugging for 4 hours today (on purpose with gpt-5-high to see how it would then later fair with this new model release) and yeah, 4+ hrs trying with old gpt-5-high model -> one-shot fixed with gpt-5-codex high.

unpopular opinion: if you have to do this (I did this before), then the model you're using is garbage compared to today's SOTA

When people have nothing to live for, when they are told that it's not their fault but someone else's, when their agency is algorithmically stripped away from their being, all that's left is hope for martyrdom in their echo chambered community. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk. 🇺🇸🏆
No one is going to do these events anymore. Town halls are done. One major political party has a subset of adherents that are perfectly happy to assassinate their political opponents if given the opportunity x.com/AGHamilton29/s…
Same problem affected me; thankfully, almost done with the rewrite. Especially with so many endpoints to support...
opencode has a bunch of performance problems the reason we haven't shipped much in the last 2 weeks is we're fixing these by moving to opentui hoping to be back at parity by end of week
