I'm both super happy and a little bummed, because I think I'm wrong about Apple. I'm using their latest Tahoe on device AI, and it is just blowing me away. And this is all on an old M1 MacBook Pro. I think it's, like, 5 or 6 years old now. 16 gigs of RAM.
