The only reason I still use Arc, the web browser, is because of their YouTube media player. When you click off into a different tab, it opens up their little mini player.
Oh my gosh, it's the best experience ever. Movement of it, autoplaying next, resizing, all via trackpad...
I've tried using Reddit for the past week or so, subscribing to all of the AI-related subreddits. And let me tell you, it's something that I deeply regret.
If you want to talk about brain rot, all those posts are brain rot. I've yet to find one insightful Reddit post.
no one is talking about it because everyone is too addicted to building/refactoring their projects/businesses with it
it's over, opus 4 qualifies as agi for me, for all of my life's use cases. a better model could never see the light of day and I'd be fine with that
@airkatakana
claude 4 opus can literally replace junior engineers. it is absolutely capable of doing their work faster than a junior engineer, cheaper than a junior engineer, and more accurately than a junior engineer and no one is talking about it
opus 4, opus 4, opus 5
@scaling01
comment your: - favorite model of all time - most used model (presently) - model launch you are most excited about I'll start: Sonnet 3.5, o3, GPT-5 and DeepSeek R2 close 2nd
friendly reminder: there are still people out there using gpt-4o-mini (without knowing, of course) and calling AI shit because they don't understand that there are different models
The only benchmark that matters is how much better it works for whatever it is that you do. In my case, Sonnet 4 / Opus 4 are pretty much AGI.
It’s to the point where even if we never see a better model than these, I would be fine with that. Agents / MCPs / whatever is solved.
@scaling01
On Anthropics Internal AI research evaluation suite Claude 4 models underperform Claude 3.7 Sonnet
Claude Code + Opus 4 practically solves programming btw
I’ve been thinking about this. What’s the saving grace for Apple? The only thing that could save them? Acquire Anthropic
But I don’t think Anthropic would ever do this no matter the amount of money
@seanxthielen
Apple should acquire Anthropic. Evolve Siri into Claude. That would catapult Anthropic into consumer relevancy and presumably “fix” Apple Intelligence. Make OpenAI really dance.
>repeatedly state they don’t care about themselves, they only care about the people/society
>talk about nothing except how much they don’t care about themselves
>10min video of them talking about themselves (but not really, but kinda?)
>doesn’t even show the product
LMAO WAT
This is exactly why capitalism is always going to be king! Money makes the world go round. Money makes everyone go through sleepless nights to eke out even an ounce more productivity, hoping that competition can be squashed. This goes for any size business!
@haider1
the cycle never ends. every month, a new "world’s most powerful model" takes the crown we applaud, compare, then wait for the next. it’s a race with no finish line... but where does it end?
the latest gemini pro 2.5 is the only model i've been using to code with. especially today since its thought output has changed, something about the code that it produces now, especially the way it thinks things through, nothing like it out there currently.
lets see claude 4.
something tells me a LOT of people (primarily tech-minded people this year, then the masses next year) will be wanting the latest Google flagship phones rather than iPhones
When I read "iPhone" now, I immediately think "worthless infuriating always-a-pain AI psuedo-assistant"
