It’s called mewing for a reason
@JustinWhang
what gets me up in the morning? knowing opus 3.5 is just around the corner
super fun to make this from scratch with nothing but next and shadcn
sometimes i drink too much coffee and i get all jittery and a headache. so i make more coffee and that fixes that
welp, seems like @cursor_ai now limits sonnet 3.5 requests too, not only gpt-4. gpt-4o seems unlimited still but it's shit compared to sonnet 3.5
playing runescape 16 hours a day has helped me evolve into programming 16 hours a day. runescape OGs are something else, yes i'm tooting my own horn
@TIME
'Things are dark.' Democrats are panicking about Joe Biden's debate performance—and what will happen next ti.me/3VJ7g5h
time to recharge for 5 hours of some shitty sleep and get to redesigning the website from scratch, that'll be fun. tomorrow we ball hard
wait where did everyone's cool "M" company logo go? all the cool kids had them next to their blue badge
by the way, apples is the only legitimate leaker, everyone else is larping harder than the next guy - but you know that already, right anon?
i'm just so addicted to making my own software, it doesn't matter what it is, whether it's a video editor, or an audio recording to a transcription program, or a desktop controller. I can't even find games fun anymore. although I haven't ventured into game creation yet, because… Less

I can't even find games fun anymore. although I haven't ventured into game creation yet, because I know that will be my biggest time sink, with a very long-term, down-the-line reward. I need to focus on all the projects I have going on right now, rather than trying to start up new ones.
the software world is getting weirder and weirder. you can really pop out almost any type of niche program within a week these days.
weird how everyone that isn't macron is labeled far-right in the media, no matter what publication you look at. weird how that works
other than obscure non-useful questions with gotcha answers, gpt-4o is terrible compared to sonnet 3.5
i think @cursor_ai should offer an API for their diff model/capabilities so I can use it in for example my Obsidian plugin
you understand trump is our next president right? doesn't matter what you think about him; no matter what the democratic party does with biden or another replacement candidate
gemma 2 9b model is surprisingly good
broke: "early to bed, early to rise"
woke: debugging at 2am
bespoke: letting an LLM optimize your sleep schedule
sonnet 3.5 already feels like cheating. yesterday anthropic mentioned (again) dropping opus 3.5 super soon...
i guess i'll just cancel all my plans for the next month
my thoughts on last night's debate? pretty sure i've seen more coherent conversations between two chatbots trained on reddit comments
the real turing test is figuring out if that github repo with 10k stars actually does what it claims
the closest thing we have to the death note is eminem's notebook
@laraisuncool
so many of our jobs will be wiped out with this, and the quality of digital products will become so much worse this is bringing digital design to mass market, like they did with physical design. now we sit in shitty chairs and only rich people can afford a well-designed product … Less

anon, you have no idea how early we are. this is what the masses think rn, and i dont see it changing anytime soon. we're earlier than early; it seems like it hasn't even begun.
@sofiaxaguilar
cannot emphasize enough how horrid chatgpt is, y'all. it's depleting our global power & water supply, stopping us from thinking or writing critically, plagiarizing human artists. today's students are worried they won't have jobs because of AI tools. this isn't a world we deserve
every time sonnet 3.5 gets exactly what i want done in 1 prompt attempt, it... it just puts a huge smile on my face.
this is the worst it will ever be, no matter what models take the crown next. we're truly in the best timeline fr

just use obsidian bro
meam before sleap
ok time to pass out and sleep so i can finish and push tomorrow's update, gn
genuinely laughed at a few of these, hurts so good to be an @obsdmd user. sonnet 3.5 really calling us out though
i want to start a job again but there's just nothing cool going on in the job boards i frequent. i rather continue the toil of contract work and youtube/patreon/consulting rather than do something corporate
air conditioning + washer/dryer + dishwasher = peak efficiency.
@BasedNorthmathr
It’s uncanny how easy it is
oh, you go off of LLM benchmarks? that’s cute, we go off vibes here, much more accurate
i disagree, i'm giving my 5yo daughter a thinkpad with a fresh arch installation and a little homemade robot with a local LLM installed on it, that's all she can use to figure out how to set everything up from scratch
@yacineMTB
i'm not going to give my kids phones or laptops theyll get a portable daylight paper monitor with a pi glued to the back of it if they want to watch paw patrol, they will have to learn how to ssh to their dedicated naked basement debian server, set up the network and use yt-dlp
i wish cigarettes weren't bad for you. it's such a waste of such a cool name for a thing. and the action itself is so cool too. fuck. i can't wait for healthcare to get to the point where cigarette smoking damage to your body can be neutralized / offset by like a pill or smth
all i need is God, zero sugar monster, and armodafinil
it makes me so happy seeing all the youngsters hyping up nvim, brings a tear to my eye, nvim is an artform, a way of life
👀 grok 1.5 in the next few days it seems
sonnet 3.5 is current SOTA coding model
i hate writing out documentation; i ship too fast. thankfully i'm figuring out how to update documentation automatically with each new feature add/change
sonnet 3.5 is like opus, that's all. no noticeable improvements over opus.
that being said, that alone is big.
Singularity will happen in the future maybe earlier.
@Devgymsetvfx
Singularity will happen after 2030 maybe earlier.
sometimes i dive deep into a twitter thread to the point where I go "holy fuck, this person exists and believes all this shit" and it feels so doom-ery, only going back to coding problems cleanses my mind again
runway gen-3 seems sora level tbh
until the customer has no idea they're talking to an AI, this will never be able to replace actual workers taking an order from the drive through
basically it needs to pass an auditory turing-like test
@xlr8harder
McDonald's drive through is highly optimized and metrics driven, and this indicates a real failure to optimize the process with AI. On the other hand, models are improving every day. AI order taking will be back. x.com/axios/status/1…
nothing worked for putting me to sleep until I figured it out - listening to 3hr interrogation videos, uncut. i fall asleep within the first 10 minutes
@nico_jeannen
@levelsio I already use melatonin 3mg and magnesium, it works but if I’m too stressed/anxious it don’t really help And I also keep waking up at 4AM, my body don’t want to get more than 7h somehow, apparently CBD helps
if you once tweeted something similar to what I just posted, you should link that tweet in the replies, that would be so hilarious haha
“Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators the creator seeks -- those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest.”

i had a team member a long time ago that only knew how to push updates to git, and all their commit messages were just the word "update" and nothing else granted, he was one of the best on the team. funny how that works. sometimes i wonder if maybe he did know how to use git but… Less

@theo
I still can’t fathom how saying “you should learn git if you want a job writing code” is controversial
