garbage argument imo yeah price matters to a certain extent but people just want to use THE BEST model out there, even if it's 5% better. 5% better can easily be worth x2. depends on what it's 5% better FROM, and as it's 5% better than gpt-4, seems worth it to me.
Idk man... there has to be some very compelling reason to use claude 3 when the price is literally > 2x the best model (gpt-4-turbo)
many, MANY such cases of migrating from GPT-4 to Claude 3 Opus no one cares about the company name, they care about the GENERATION QUALITY. let the AI arms race TRULY begin from here just waiting for OAI to release their banger in the next day or two - if not, i'll switch.
CLAUDE 3 LEARNS SELF TYPES IN ONE SHOT. Goodbye GPT-4. I'm migrating.

claude 3 opus release reaction is what google WISHES their gemini advanced release felt like google AI execs kicking themselves rn
i think the argument of "OAI already has AGI, they can't release it now because of legal reasons, that's why they're not going to release anything" is silly if they DID have AGI (they do), they can just task it with "make a copy of yourself that's a bit dumber" roughly speaking
what's insane to me is how quickly my mind adapted to thinking GPT-4 is... stupid all because of using Claude 3 Opus for a few hours how quickly my mental model of LLMs can change. I think that's a good thing overall, but I'm worried people's brains will break trying to keep up
remember, every day that goes by where OpenAI doesn't release GPT 4.5/GPT 5 (whatever they will call it)... is another day where people cancel their ChatGPT subscriptions and use Claude Opus (because, well - it's "the smartest on the market") Every. Day. Counts. For. Them.
yep... seems like I've been auto-banned for some reason. no way to appeal. last time I used claude was 3+ months ago, maybe for 2-3 test prompts. something with their auto-banning/flagging is wonky if it decided to ban me (also banned on API) @AnthropicAI any clue how to fix?

Very Strict!

it's looking like there's absolutely no reason to renew a chatgpt / gpt4 subscription right now because of claude this means that openai will release an uppercut REAL SOON. mark my words
yeah i'm 100% convinced OpenAI releases something big this week. no way they will let Anthropic gain this much traction
now we wait for OpenAI's planned response to this...
Today, we're announcing Claude 3, our next generation of AI models. The three state-of-the-art models—Claude 3 Opus, Claude 3 Sonnet, and Claude 3 Haiku—set new industry benchmarks across reasoning, math, coding, multilingual understanding, and vision.
A table of Claude 3 model family benchmarks. Claude 3 Opus, the most capable model, exceeds SOTA across reasoning, math, code, and other evaluations versus GPT-4 and Gemini Ultra.
is it just me or is sam harris a doomer now? i guess he's been doom'n for a while, but recently he's been going crazy with his youtube video titles
apple pivoted from cars because 1. the humanoid robot market looks much better than iCars 2. electric car market is already taken 3. in a few years, no one will care what "brand" car they are traveling in because most people will drive in automated on-call auto-mobiles
this is from a single image, btw. yeah we've had talking head for a while, but this is next-gen. to the untrained eye, it's nearing impossible to distinguish fact from reality all from a single image of a person. you can make them say anything ON VIDEO.
First see video, for yourself!

tech acc speedhack: start focusing AI content around kpop/taylor swift/[fandom here] stans if you start making ai content of their idols, they will become as tech talented as their anime pfp counterparts
every day i battle with the question: is openai doing a good for humanity by not releasing their most powerful model(s) yet? - what are they waiting for - is this waiting period beneficial for humanity - what would happen if they just let it all rip they have the keys AND door.
ask yourself if google or openai had a 10x ai programmer model... would they release it? or build a bunch with it first to get way ahead?
this + groq speeds = new era of robotics
Google DeepMind published interesting new robotics research. They fine-tuned an LLM (Palm 2-S) to allow robots to learn faster from human interaction. The new method achieves the highest improvement in teachability over traditional RAG and LMPC-Skip. pic.x.com/NADVjZivpF

i wonder how many of today's tech parents are doing this routine for their kids but instead of chess, in the tech field. programming, engineering, etc. how many man-made (or parent-made, I guess) geniuses will we see in the next few decades? seems exponential to me.
Psychologist Laszlo Polgar ran the most bizarre experiment on his kids. After studying 1000s of geniuses, He was sure that geniuses are made, not born. His attempt succeeded and all 3 daughters ended up as chess grandmasters. Here are his 6 tips for raising a genius:

huge props to @pkanez @JackK on the quick turnaround from @Google cancelling my 2 month free trial (and many others') prematurely, just got this beautiful email in the inbox. amazing to see this kind of fast community-based support. bullish for Google tbh

the main problem with generation of any kind is the lack of being able to say "nah, ur good". i.e. if you ask "should I refactor this?", the answer will always be yes, here's how to do it, and never "nah, ur good". hence, you're most likely always ADDING code, never DELETING.
this is real btw, not satire

articles like these are meta-ironic, right? right?... RIGHT?!
Journalists are grasping at straws trying to make the case that generative AI is causing a water crisis. I drink more than that verbalizing the amount of words in 5-50 responses, and who said cooling needed to use drinkable water??

the problem with marketing to kids is that few kids have VR headsets to start with, let alone AVP. it's different for phones - phones provide so much other value that it makes sense for parents to dish out $500 for a decent phone. same price for quest / 5x price for AVP... nope.
An example: MR virtual pets. Will do well in MR, and I have been pitched this concept before for Quest 3. As a new-age Tamagotchi (targeted to younger audiences), Q3 also more likely to already have an ideal age demographic vs AVP. Not sure AVP enables anything novel here … MoreLess

new personal rule: never interviewing without the ability to use my own AI system. literally pointless imo but to each their own
i've heard that drinking water solves vr (specifically Apple Vision Pro) headaches. finally, a worthy reason for you to drink more water, anon

i follow a few 50 yr old+ programmers/techbros, it's so cool to see them flame each other here on twitter while they're talking about AI and whether it's x or y or z. one of my favorite pastimes
imagine overlaying a filter over EVERYTHING so you're just in an anime world full of anime characters... coming soon to an apple vision pro near you (if u have $4K)
so has anyone fucked with the vision pro and irl-to-anime filters running on them yet?
if you're making an installer for literally any program, make the initial install file less than 1MB. No need for it to be more. no one wants to install 400MB within their browser - do this through the installer with a nice little UI.
lmao remember that one ex-google guy that said google's AI reached sentience and he started advocating for its rights / warning people about it on news channels
china's AI tech is starting to outshine due to them basically not caring at all about copyright. just look at the difference in response lol

I'm very impressed with new Alibaba's Vision AI model. In some way's it's better than GPT4 because it does an extremely impressive job at identifying people. The way that I use these vision models in business is usually to interface images into words, or in my case, I use them for my descriptions of eCommerce products. Take the description, mix a little ChatGPT and SEO keywords, and you can watch your store ramp up in organic traffic. You can try the new Alibaba model for free at huggingface.co/spaces/Qwen/Qw… Try it yourself. #TheAIMogul Qwen-VL-Plus vs GPT4
